Adios, Legoland

We are officially done with our annual Legoland passes (no tears here). Apparently 6 visits in 1 year is enough to make even the biggest fan a little apathetic...

Yesterday we went with much anticipation. Upon entering and making a b-line for Project-X, the best of the roller-coasters, Noah tells me he doesn't want to ride it. After asking him if he was sure, I asked why and he said "the line is way too long!" I guess he's really starting to take after his dad.

So we went to find mom and sister and he didn't want to go on the Dragon roller-coaster either (we dragged him on that one though, since Natalie wanted to ride it and there was no line). The only things he really wanted to do all day was to play mini-golf and go to the lego building areas so he could build things. I told Julie next time he wants to go to Legoland we should just buy some legos for him to build with.

Today's Recap

Today in a nutshell:
The kids and I ate all the donuts before Julie got out of bed.
Hit the pool/water-slide/slash park area - kids loved it.

Beat Noah 2 games to 1 in foosball. I was trying to let him win but then he started talking smack (plus he kept scoring on himself and I was getting really hungry for lunch.)

Took one for the team and agreed to lunch at Chuck-E-Cheese.

Beat Julie in the basketball pop-a-shot (she was talking smack too - still thinks she can beat me since she played basketball as a freshman in H.S.)
Played NASCAR pinball - I love pinball - even though I'm not the pinball wizard - (great song by a great band though - "The Who" for all of you born too late/early to appreciate real music).

Found the local thrift stores so I could get some golf shoes since I left mine at home and really I have at least 5 pair so I couldn't rationalize buying another pair at full price - Got em and hope to use them tomorrow morning.

Rushed kids back to resort so we could check them into the kids Jungle Night.

Off to date night with Julie - I enjoyed a date night dinner that could only be on vacation - a chocolate shake and skinny fries at Fat Burger. (We didn't eat lunch til after 2 so I was not really hungry yet.

Reluctantly went to see "The Gift" - it was a really sappy, but good movie. Not too many movies out anymore that are worth sitting through. This was a good one.

Rushed back to pick up the kids. They didn't want to leave. They had a great time and made some new friends. Hopefully they will get another chance on Thursday night as well!!

Good night.

Laziness is a virtue

Its 10:00 am and we're all still in our jammies. :)

Hit Pacific Beach yesterday and the kids had a blast. Noah built an impenetrable sand castle fortress and had all us peons working hard at his command (sorry, the camera batteries were dead). Natalie had fun collecting shells, and they both loved screaming as they tried to outrun the tide coming in - I am sure all the locals had a good laugh at us crazy tourists!

Not sure what's on tap for today - probably the pool and water-slide for the kids. Dad is hoping his stiff back improves enough for a round of golf.

The resort has a kids club Jungle Night tonight, so Julie and I are hoping to get an actual date night!

Here's a picture from the patio on our condo overlooking the 10th green - Ebay rocks!

Vacation started off right

We arrived safely last night after getting a late start. It was a blessing in disguise - They were out of 1 bedroom condos so they "had to" upgrade us to a 2 bedroom. We had debated over spending the extra money for the 2 bedroom for the week and figured it would be better spent elsewhere. We didn't know how it would work to lock ourselves in the master after putting the kids to bed on the sleeper sofa in the living room, but now they have their own beds and this dad is elated.

Off to the beach today.
