Honoring Mom

I heard it said once on Mother's Day that we should all be thankful for mom's, because without them the world would be a very lonely place. Duhh.
Well, mom's are special to all of us for so many reasons. Mine is the world's best (with the only possible exception being my kid's mom - we'll just call it a tie).

Mom I love you for so many reasons. You were always there to hear about a bad day at school, to make me a hot breakfast every day and send special notes in my lunch (I always looked forward to reading that encouragement, and I think I actually have a couple of those notes somewhere in those boxes in the attic that Julie always harasses me about keeping). You were always there to cheer me on playing sports or to console me when I got hurt. You were the mom who gave up working to stay home and take care of us kids, to volunteer in our classes, to go on field trips or whatever was needed. You were a beacon of love and compassion in our house.
You taught me so much about life - Like its ok to cry and show emotion, and how to be a humble servant and how to love your kids. Thanks for all you did for me and all you do now as a meema (grandma) to our kids. You are the best and I love you.
Hope you had a kleenex nearby.
Happy Mother's Day

Ephesians 6:2-3
"Honor your father and mother"—which is the first commandment with a promise— 3"that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."

Wow, what a tribute! It was fun having you as my "little boy". One thing you left out was how much love my children always showed me. It was the best reward a mom could get. Thanks for always letting me be a part of your life (even as a big boy).
Love, mom
